Changes to Capital Gains Tax (CGT): "As announced at Autumn Budget 2024, the government will introduce legislation in Finance Bill 2024-25 to increase the main rates of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) from 10% and 20% to 18% and 24% respectively. Spring Budget 2024: Essential tax rates and thresholds.

A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is a separate legal entity created by an organization. The SPV is a distinct company with its own assets and liabilities, as well as its own legal status. Usually, they are created for a specific objective, often to isolate financial risk. As it is a separate legal entity, if the parent company goes bankrupt, the special purpose vehicle can carry on.

From National Apprenticeship Week, research by the AAT has emphasised the financial significance of the choice at hand. AAT’s Salary Survey published in January, showed that accounting apprentices could expect to earn an average starting salary of almost £20,000 studying Level 2 apprenticeships, with 71% of apprentices saying they also received salary increases after starting.
